The Mile & Margin standard

Mile & Margin is a elegant, narrative and culturally curious independent resource for practical European coach travel information.

Last editorial review: 12 October 2026 · Changing operational information is always checked with the operator, terminal or authority.

An independent starting point

Mile & Margin is built for people who want a clear practical picture before travelling by long-distance coach in Europe. Its job is editorial: explain the preparation, terminology and decision points that surround a journey. It is not a carrier, booking platform, ticket marketplace, customer-support desk, account portal or reseller.

This website is an independent informational and educational travel resource. It is not owned, operated, or officially affiliated with FlixBus unless explicitly stated otherwise.

How the editorial desk works

We begin with the durable parts of a journey: how to read a stop, organise essentials, allow a transfer buffer, prepare an arrival and distinguish a local source from an operator source. We then identify the parts that change and clearly ask the reader to verify them with the responsible current source.

Where a topic requires an authority, we prefer official EU, government, border, consular, terminal or operator material. A company’s own travel information can explain that company’s current process; it is not turned into a universal rule. We do not copy operator website wording or present a third party as a partner.

What we publish—and what we do not

We publish original explanatory writing, sensible checklists, route-planning frameworks and destination arrival context. We do not publish invented schedules, fares, discounts, stop assignments, capacities, luggage limits, availability, service features, reviews or statistics. We do not create fake tickets, booking flows, payment screens, QR codes or customer-service chat.

If FlixBus or another operator is named, it is named only as a transportation company or an external source relevant to a practical check. A mention does not establish sponsorship, endorsement, authorisation, ownership or representation.

Corrections and updates

Travel information can age quickly. Readers are invited to send a precise correction with the page URL and a reliable source to the editorial address. We review substantiated feedback and correct factual errors. Editorial corrections are not a route to change a booking, locate a bus or request an operator refund.

Pages use review cues and verification prompts because a responsible guide does not pretend that a static article can control a live travel system. When a fact cannot be supported or needs a current primary source, we qualify it or leave it out.

Independence is visible, not hidden

The footer on every page identifies this site as independent. The homepage makes the same boundary clear before any reader follows a guide. CTAs invite readers to learn, read and prepare; they do not imitate commercial transaction or ticket-fulfilment labels.

The visual identity is deliberately distinct from transport-operator interfaces. It uses an editorial brand, original wording and travel photography for context rather than a carrier logo, booking widget or corporate-style support navigation.
